Eating For A Healthy Heart

Bad cholesterol or a bad diet is something we all go through sometime in our lives. Now you should know that its next to impossible to eat healthy everyday of our lives, even though we plan to we have many factors in our everyday lives that prevent it. But when it comes to keeping the heart healthy, there are some things you should know.A diet that is high in saturated fats will indeed raise your cholesterol level, which we all know is a big role in heart disease. We all know this but, people that are obese are more likely to obtain heart disease. A high sodium diet will raise your blood pressure, causing inflammation and heart disease.

To help stop and prevent heart disease, you need to improve your overall health. To do that you should definitely eat fish and lots of it. Salmon and sardines are all rich in Omega 3. All fish is good for you but, its the Omega 3 that can help you lower your cholesterol level. Now there are healthy fats as well. Saturated fats are known for increasing the chance of heart disease. Mostly found in coconut oil and meat. It would be wise to avoid until your cholesterol levels have reached a healthier level. Meat lovers can get their protein from seafood and nuts.

Some monounsaturated fats such as olive oils is great a much healthier choice to keep your healthy. Many people use olive oil for cooking instead of butter. Fiber is a great choice for lowering your cholesterol. Not only does it help to lower your cholesterol, but it also helps in controlling your sugar absorption. It also helps to keep your digestive track functioning healthy and regularly.

Nowadays its carbs this, carbs that, which ones should you eat and which ones should you stay away from? If you are trying to be more healthy then should avoid foods such as cakes, cookies, and candy. Eating large quantities of sugar is bad for the heart, now you don't have to aviod them altogether but don't over do it neither. There are many healthy carbs and these are the ones you should try and consume everyday if not twice a day. Whole grain pasta and breads, brown rice and of course vegetables are great healthy choices.
